L’Étape is a popular stop! During certain periods, high traffic and extended charging sessions can lead to waiting times at the charging stations.
Install more charging stations? We already have! The site's electrical capacity has been reached, so adding more charging stations is no longer being considered.
Charging to 70% is often more than enough!
At fast-charging stations, charging your vehicle to 100% is often unnecessary. Beyond a certain charge level, charging slows down significantly and becomes more expensive.
The case of L’Étape
L’Étape is located on a plateau at an elevation of 800 metres (2,625 feet). You will need less energy to leave than you needed to get there.
Other charging stations are located less than 100 km (62 miles) away in every direction.
Most electric vehicles have a driving range that allows them to travel several hundred kilometres on a single charge!
A simple incentive rate to reduce wait times
During peak periods, every day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the charging rate increases by 50% once the battery reaches a 70% state of charge.
By charging only what you need for your trip, you benefit from a more favorable rate and help free up charging stations more quickly, allowing more EV drivers to recharge their vehicles. Everyone wins!
